The Digital Loop Testers loop impedance is measured by the impedance of the fault loop in an electrical circuit to verify that sufficient fault current will flow to quickly operate protective devices in the event of a fault.
Loop testers are used to verify that the fault loop impedance in a circuit is low enough to allow protective devices to disconnect the supply quickly in the event of a fault. If a live conductor accidentally comes into contact with an exposed conductive part, excessive loop impedance can prevent sufficient fault current from flowing, increasing the risk of electric shock or fire.
Regular calibration ensures the tester delivers accurate impedance readings, helping maintain safety compliance and confidence in your test results.
